Located on the Adriatic Sea in southern Italy, Bari is the capital of the Puglia region and one of the most important ports in Italy. The old town is a maze of narrow streets, where women shape orecchiette pasta right outside their homes. It is also home to the main tourist attractions: the Basilica of San Nicola, which houses the relics of St. Nicholas, and the Cathedral of San Sabino.
