Airports in Rome
Rome has two passenger airports. These are:
- Fiumicino Airport
- Ciampino Airport
The combined traffic of the two airports makes Rome the Italian city with the highest number of passengers.
Fiumicino Airport
Fiumicino Airport is the largest airport in Italy. It is used by both legacy carriers and some low-cost airlines. It is located about 32 km from Rome to the southwest, on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Transport from Fiumicino Airport to Rome is provided by shuttle bus, train, buses, or taxi.
Ciampino Airport
Ciampino Airport is the smaller of Rome's airports, being used primarily by low-cost companies. It is closer than Fiumicino, located just 15 km away to the southeast.
Transfer services from Ciampino Airport to Rome are provided by shuttle bus, a bus+train combination, bus+metro, or taxi.
