How to Get from Naples Airport to City Center?
Naples Airport is officially called Aeroporto di Napoli-Capodichino. It is one of the largest airports in Italy and the main airport of the Campania region. It is located at about 4 km from the Central Station (Stazione Centrale) in Naples.
Naples Airport has a single terminal (Terminal 1).
Naples Airport to City Center Transport Options
The transfer from the airport to Naples city center can be done by bus, taxi, or private transfer. If you are planning a longer vacation to also visit the attractions around Naples, you can rent a car.
1. Alibus Bus
The Terravision company, in collaboration with Alibus, offers bus transportation services from the airport to Naples Central Station (Stazione Centrale) and further on to the port (Stazione Marittima).
Alibus buses run between 5:30 AM and 11:58 PM, at intervals of about 15 minutes (but expect the schedule, both ways, to be very approximate... after all, you are in Naples). Alibus uses actual city buses, not coaches like those providing transport from the airports in Rome or Milan; therefore, the carrying capacity is smaller and there is a likelihood of standing with your luggage next to you.
The bus stop is located in front of the airport, about 150-200m away (a few minutes' walk).

The Alibus route is as follows: Naples Airport - Piazza Garibaldi (Stazione Centrale) - Immacolatella / Porta di Massa (inside the port) - Molo Angioino/ Beverello (Maritime Station terminal/ Stazione Marittima).
The duration of the transport from the airport to the Central Station (Stazione Centrale) is about 15 minutes, and from the airport to the port of Naples (Stazione Marittima) is about 35 minutes.
The price of a trip from the airport to Naples is €5 each way, and children under 6 years old travel for free.
You can buy tickets online, from the vending machines in the airport, or directly on the bus, in cash or by card (one card per ticket). Tickets purchased online are valid for 3 months for a trip on any departure, regardless of the time slot selected in the booking.

There are usually quite long queues when boarding, but the waiting time is not very long (it can reach up to 30 minutes).

For the return to the airport, the train station bus stop is located right in front of Stazione Centrale, slightly to the right (and you will find queues there as well).
A recommendation: if you want to avoid waiting long to board the bus and secure a seat, it is better to take it from the station in the port.

2. Taxi
Taxi cars are white and wait right in front of the airport. Taxi fares are fixed, established by the authorities. The price of a taxi ride from Naples Airport to the Central Station is €21, and to the port of Naples, it is €24.

3. Private Transfer
For those who want to travel quickly and comfortably and are not limited by budget, there is also the option of a private transfer. You can also check the transfer options on KiwiTaxi.com.
4. Car Rental
If you have several days at your disposal, it might be an idea to rent a car directly from the airport, especially since there are so many beautiful places to explore near Naples. However, strictly for transport within Naples, we would not recommend renting a car
