Aosta Valley
Aosta Valley

The Aosta Valley (in Italian Valle d'Aosta or Val d'Aosta) is the smallest and least populated of all the regions of Italy. It is an autonomous region, with Italian and French as its official languages. Located in the northwest, it borders Piedmont, France, and Switzerland, and its capital is the town of Aosta.

The Aosta Valley is a stunning mountainous area, dotted with medieval castles and Roman ruins, where natural beauty intertwines with history and delicious food. The highest peaks of the Italian Alps (Mont Blanc - Monte Bianco in Italian, the Matterhorn - Monte Cervino in Italian, and Monte Rosa) are found within the Valle d'Aosta region, and its more than 20 ski resorts offer winter sports for every taste. In summer, the natural beauty attracts those passionate about camping and mountain hiking.
