Florence
Tuscany is one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. It is a tourist area renowned for its vineyards, the beauty of its rolling landscapes, and its medieval towns and villages.
Tuscany is located in central Italy, bordering Umbria to the east, Lazio to the south, and Liguria and Emilia-Romagna to the north. To the west, it opens onto the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Ligurian Sea, where there are beaches and summer resorts. The region is crossed by the Arno River.
A visit to Tuscany should start with Florence (which is also the capital of Tuscany), a true open-air museum, the cradle of culture and art. Another extraordinary destination is Siena, with its medieval center, where the famous Palio festival takes place. In Pisa, the main monuments are concentrated in the Piazza dei Miracoli, home to the Leaning Tower. Pienza is the "ideal city" of the Renaissance, as imagined by Pope Pius II. The medieval town of San Gimignano stands out for its towers. Among Tuscany's many beauties, the Chianti area is also worth visiting, world-famous for its wines, as well as Val d'Orcia, whose fields and landscapes have inspired many artists of the Italian Renaissance.
