Puglia (also called Apulia) is a region in southern Italy, located between the Ionian Sea and the Adriatic Sea. It is an area of remarkable beauty, with picturesque towns, beaches and crystal-clear waters, as well as fascinating tourist attractions. Its olive oil and wines are internationally renowned. Bari will fascinate you with its narrow, cobbled streets, where women hand-shape orecchiette, the regio's traditional pasta. Ostuni is also known as the "white town". In Alberobello, you'll discover a place where the houses (called trulli) look like they've come straight out of fairy tales, while Polignano a Mare and Monopoli are charming little seaside towns. Lecce is the city of Baroque art, and in Santa Maria di Leuca you'll find yourself at the "heel of the Italian boot".
