Taking the Skyway Cable Car from Courmayeur to Mont Blanc

In Courmayeur, one of the tourist resorts in the Aosta Valley, there is a modern and spectacular cable car that takes you up to an altitude of 3,466m in just 15 minutes. During the summer, you can even reach Chamonix, France, via the cable car system.

Skyway Cable Car Tickets and Prices

The ticket prices for the Skyway cable car are quite high, but the experience is well worth the money. Tickets purchased online are cheaper than those bought on-site directly at the counter.

Note! If you have already purchased a skipass for the ski resorts in the Aosta Valley, check to see if cable car access is already included. Skipasses for a minimum of 3 days, as well as 1-2 day passes combined with the Courmayeur Mont Blanc lift system, include a round-trip ticket to Punta Helbronner. In this case, you will only need to make a reservation (free of charge).

When purchasing your tickets, you will need to choose an ascent time (but not a descent time).

Skyway Monte Bianco

The new cable car (which replaced the one built in the 1940s) was inaugurated in 2015 and is called Skyway Monte Bianco (Monte Bianco is the Italian name for the Mont Blanc massif).

The cabins, which can hold up to 75-80 people, offer a panoramic view along the entire route, rotating slowly at 360° as they ascend, so you can freely admire the full scenery.

The three stations of the Skyway cable car are:

A tip: The time you can spend at the top station is limited to 1.5 hours from the moment you board the first cable car. Therefore, we recommend going straight to the top station (Punta Helbronner) first and stopping at the intermediate station (Pavillon) only on your way back (where you can stay as long as you wish).
