How to Get from Naples to Bari?
Although Naples and Bari sit on opposite coasts of Italy and in completely different regions (Campania and Puglia, respectively), traveling from one side to the other is actually quite easy. The driving distance is around 270 km (168 miles), and you can easily make the trip by bus, train, rental car, or private transfer. Note that there are no direct flights between the two cities.
By Bus
Several bus companies operate frequent routes between Naples and Bari, making this one of the most budget-friendly options.
Flixbus
Flixbus buses depart from the Naples Central Station Terminal, make a few stops around town, and drop you off right next to the Bari train station. The journey takes about 3 to 3.5 hours. Prices are dynamic - meaning the earlier you book, the better your chances of snagging a cheap ticket.
SITA Sud
SITA Sud is a regional carrier that also connects Naples and Bari in 3 to 3.5 hours, with tickets fixed at €15. You can book your tickets via Marozzi.
Itabus
Departing from the same terminal near Napoli Centrale and arriving near Bari's main station, Itabus offers another reliable option with dynamic pricing.
Marino Bus
Another travel option is Marino Bus, which gets you there in about 3.5 to 4 hours. Tickets here are also dynamically priced.
By Train
While there are plenty of high-speed trains linking Naples and Bari, most of them require at least one connection in Caserta. However, Trenitalia has recently introduced direct Frecciarossa trains, which cut the travel time down to about 3.5 hours.
