Where to Stay in Ostuni

Where to Stay in Ostuni

Normally, one day is enough to visit Ostuni. However, to fully enjoy the charm of the "White Town" and experience its magical evening atmosphere, we recommend booking an overnight stay. You can stay even longer if you use it as a base to visit other nearby tourist attractions in Puglia.

Accommodation in the Historic Center

The best option is to stay in the historic center of Ostuni, where there are many beautiful apartments and B&Bs decorated in a traditional style that will help you fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the streets in the center are narrow and full of bars and restaurants, so it is very likely that you will be close to some noisy areas. Second, if you have rented a car, you will need to leave it in one of the nearby parking areas (outside the walls) and walk with your luggage (or book a ride with the Ape Calessino vehicles).

If you are traveling with family members or a group of friends, it is possible to rent an entire holiday home. An example is Dimora Lavinia, which has 4 bedrooms and a living room.

Those who prefer the convenience of hotels will also find options in the historic center, such as the 4-star Hotel La Terra and La Sommità Relais & Châteaux, a luxurious 5-star alternative.

Accommodation near the historic center

Another option is to stay just outside the historic center. We recommend Hotel Ostuni Palace, a 4-star hotel located just a few minutes' walk from Piazza della Libertà. It is a bit more expensive, but well worth the price - especially when you find special offers or visit outside the peak season. The hotel is housed in a historic building and features parking, a spa, and a garden with a terrace. The service is excellent, and the breakfast is exceptional.

You can also consider other accommodations very close to Piazza della Libertà - either on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, where there are also some good restaurants, or behind the square, beyond Via Galileo Galilei.

Accommodation in a Masseria

A special category of accommodation is the masserie, the traditional farms. Obviously, you won't find them right in the center of Ostuni, but nearby, among the olive groves, either toward the sea or further inland. Staying in a masseria in Puglia is truly an experience, but it can be quite expensive. Many masserie offer luxury accommodation, with swimming pools and meals made from organic products sourced directly from the farm. As for parking, that won't be a problem, but you will need a car to get around.

Some of the masserie near Ostuni include Masseria della Piana, Masseria Piccole Taverne, Masseria Valente, Masseria Guadalupe, Masseria Il Frantoio, Masseria Asciano, and Masseria Donna Nina.

Accommodation in a Trullo

Many people associate the small white houses called trulli with the famous town of Alberobello, but they are not found only in Alberobello - they exist throughout this entire area of Puglia.

Staying in a trullo is a more unusual experience, but it is characteristic of this region. Some trullo accommodations near Ostuni include Il Trullo Matto, Trullo Tojo, and Relais Il Trullo della Rupe.

Accommodation in Ostuni Marina

Ostuni is located just about 7 km from the beaches of the Adriatic Sea. Therefore, if you want to combine a beach holiday with sightseeing, you can stay in Ostuni Marina or the nearby towns.
