Zoosafari Fasanolandia Park near Bari
Zoosafari Fasanolandia is one of the best-known theme parks in Italy. It includes a zoological area and a zoo safari, where you can drive through and see animals living in freedom, as well as an amusement park. Covering an area of 140 hectares and housing over 3,000 animals from 200 different species, Zoosafari Fasanolandia is the largest zoo in Italy.
Where is the Park?
Zoosafari Fasanolandia is located in the Puglia region, near the town of Fasano, between Bari and Brindisi. It is approximately 60 km from both Bari and Brindisi, and only 17 km from Alberobello.
The easiest way to get there is by rental car (assuming you aren't driving your own car to Italy). In fact, the Zoosafari can only be explored by car. For practical tips and recommendations, check out our guide on how to rent a car from Bari airport.
Getting there by public transport is a bit more complicated: you will need to take the train from Bari to Fasano station (30 minutes to 1 hour, prices from €5.30) and then a bus to the town centre (Viale della Resistenza). From there, it's another 2 kilometres to the park - you can take a taxi or walk.
On Sundays throughout June and July, the park offers a complimentary shuttle service from Fasano train station, running from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
It is important to know that if you do not go to the park by car, you will only be able to visit Fasanolandia, not the Zoosafari. However, if you arrive at the park by 12:00 PM, it is still possible to request a tour via the park's internal shuttle at the ticket office (subject to availability). The cost of this service is an additional €5/person on top of the ticket price.

Visit to Zoosafari Fasanolandia Park
Zoosafari Fasanolandia Park consists of the Zoosafari zoo and the Fasanolandia amusement park.
Zoosafari Park
The safari park can only be visited by car (driving at a very low speed) or by taking the park's internal shuttle. The route is about 6 kilometres long, and along the way you will encounter wild animals living freely, including giraffes, elephants, tigers, lions, bears, buffaloes, rhinoceroses, zebras, camels, and deer.

The tour lasts about 40 minutes to 1 hour. At the end, you will park your car (parking costs a few euros and is paid in cash) and continue the visit by entering the pedestrian area with primates (accessible with either type of ticket). Here you can see chimpanzees, gorillas, and lemurs.

Next (only with the Zoosafari ticket) is a panoramic tour of about 30 minutes at the Large Mammals Lake, which you will reach using a suspended mini train called MetroZoo (each car holds 6 people). The lake and its small islands are home to gibbons, hippos, brown bears, and polar bears. On the return, you will discover the Monkey Village.

Finally, you will visit the Tropical Hall, covering about 700 m². Here you will explore the world of reptiles and fish. The visit lasts about 30 minutes.
Fasanolandia Park
Fasanolandia Park is the entertainment area, with over 20 attractions for both children and adults. Among them, you will find the Ferris wheel, the Mirage Rosso and Eurofighter roller coasters, the Sputnik Tower, Super Jumper, African River and Rapid River, carousels, a miniature Venice with the Rialto Bridge and gondola rides, and many more.

Fasanolandia also features the Rabbit Oasis, the Dinosaur Museum, exhibitions, and a miniature reconstruction of Puglia, with trulli houses and representative monuments such as the San Nicola Cathedral in Bari, the Cathedral of Trani, and Castel del Monte. Various shows are held periodically at the Fantasy Theatre.
You will also find the Madagascar area (Lemur Island) and the Sea Lion Aquarium (with seals, sea lions, and penguins). Access to these attractions requires an additional fee paid on-site.
