How to Get from Bari to Alberobello?
Alberobello is probably the most tourist-popular spot in the entire Puglia region. The nearest airport is in Bari (located about 55 km away), from where you can easily reach Alberobello using public transport, renting a car, or booking a private transfer. If you'd rather not worry about organizing the logistics yourself, we recommend booking a guided day trip departing from Bari.
By Bus
Transport between Bari and Alberobello is provided by the Trulli Link buses operated by the regional transit company Ferrovie del Sud Est. Buses depart from Bari Terminal Bus, located next to the train station, and stop in Alberobello at the bus station in Piazzale Kennedy, which is about a 10-minute walk from the city center.
Tickets cost €5.20 and can be booked on the Trenitalia website (these routes are marked with a bus icon). Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
By Train
Currently, due to railway modernization works, there is no direct train service between Bari and Alberobello. If you are coming from the airport, you can take a train to Bari Centrale station (see also our article on how to get from Bari airport to the city center), but from there you will need to catch the bus mentioned above.
