How to Get from Monopoli to Alberobello?
Monopoli and Alberobello are two of the most popular destinations in Puglia. Located just 21 km apart by road, you can easily travel between them by bus, train (connection via Bari), rental car, or private transfer.
By Bus
The buses running between Monopoli and Alberobello are operated by Ferrovie del Sud Est, a regional company providing train and bus services throughout Puglia.
The travel time is roughly 50 minutes if the route goes through Fasano and Locorotondo, or around 1 hour and 5 minutes if it goes through Polignano a Mare and Castellana Grotte.
In Monopoli, the bus stop is located on Viale Vittorio Veneto 141 (there is another stop at Viale Aldo Moro 32, but it's farther from the center), while in Alberobello, buses stop at the bus station in Piazzale Kennedy, located about 10 minutes from the center.
Ticket prices start at just €2.20. You can book them directly on the Trenitalia website - just search for routes marked with a bus icon.
By Train
There is no direct train between Monopoli and Alberobello. The most reasonable way to travel by train is to buy a ticket to Bari (check out our article on travel options between Monopoli and Bari) and then catch a regional train or bus to Alberobello (see our guide on how to get from Bari to Alberobello). The whole trip will take over 1.5 hours.
By Rental Car
