How to Get from Polignano a Mare to Alberobello?
Polignano a Mare is located about 30 km (18 miles) from Alberobello. You can easily travel between the two towns by bus, train, or, ideally, by rental car.
By Bus
The buses connecting Polignano a Mare and Alberobello are called Terra e Mare. They are operated by Ferrovie del Sud Est, a regional public transport company that runs a network of trains and buses across the Puglia region.
The Polignano a Mare bus stop is in Via Grazia Deledda 1. In Alberobello the buses stop at the Stazione FS Sud Est bus station.
The journey takes about 1 hour, and a one-way ticket costs €2.60. You can book your tickets directly on the Trenitalia website.
By Train
There is no direct train from Polignano a Mare to Alberobello.
The best rail option is to take a train back to Bari Centrale (check out our guide on How to Get from Bari to Polignano a Mare) and catch a regional train to Alberobello from there.
While other train routes exist, they are more complicated, requiring at least two transfers (buses or trains) and a total travel time of 2 hours or more. You can check all available routes on the Trenitalia website.
By Rental Car
If you have rented a car to explore several destinations in Puglia, driving from Polignano to Alberobello is very straightforward.
The drive takes around 35 minutes. You can either drive via Monopoli (taking the SP 113) or via Castellana Grotte (taking the SP 120).
